These beautiful grey-headed flying foxes were just hanging out at the Black Swamp Wetlands... [photo: Ted Collis]




...but unfortunately they kept getting disturbed when this piece of grass was mowed. This meant that they were chattering and flying around during the day, which is stressful for them and potentially annoying for people who lived nearby...

...so Redlands City Council council came along and put down tan bark...

...which meant that there was no longer any grass to be mowed...

..and life was better for both the humans and the flying foxes. :) [photo: Ted Collis]

Ted Collis took this beautiful photo of a grey-headed flying fox at Black Swamp Wetlands. A big THANK YOU to Redlands City Council for not only errecting the signage (that you will have seen in our other posts) but also for working to lessen the disturbance to the bats, especially during breading season!
