BAT SQUAD! is Coming
You don’t have to be an adult to help our bats.
Kids across North America are getting involved in bat conservation in their own backyards. From science projects to lunchtime bat groups to social media campaigns, there are many ways for kids to get involved with helping bats!
But don’t take our word for it – we have eight amazing kids from across the USA excited to share their batty experiences!
Bat Squad! will launch in Bat Week 2016
To celebrate Bat Week, Bat Conservation International along with the U.S. Forest Service, National Geographic’s Animal Jam and the National Conservation Training Center are excited to launch the Bat Squad! webcast series.
The Bat Squad! webcast series, is for kids by kids – featuring eight rising stars from across the USA that have been doing great bat education, research, and conservation activities. Each of our four webcasts consist of 15-minutes of amazing, action-oriented footage streamed live from BatWeek.org, each with matching classroom activities geared towards Next Generation Science Standards.
The series will dive into the efforts of these eight Bat Squad members to increase awareness on the benefits of bats, their habitats, the threats they face, and how you can become involved in conservation. The last classroom activity even gives you a chance to become an elite member of the Bat Squad!
The videos aim not only to teach, but also to inspire even more kids to get help our bats! The series is aimed at middle school students, but is suitable for all ages!
