The Natural Resources Minister and Member for Hinchinbrook Andrew Cripps says he's hoping the incidence of Hendra virus near Ingham is an isolated case.
Mr Cripps has praised the owners of a horse that died from Hendra virus earlier this week and the vet who treated the animal.
He told the Morning Show the LNP's new policies will help control bat numbers.
In the meantime there is a call for authorities to explore more non-lethal means to move the bats.
The former LNP candidate for Dalrymple Liz Schmid says in the course of her campaign she became aware of a chilli based spray that farmers have used to deter populations.
