Megabats Flying-foxes Fruit bats shot

"Two Megabat blacks came in on the same day. both shot, this guy (pic) survived and we will try to get the bullet out, both shot in the city, very concerning but parks will investigate"

"first lactating mum, bleed to death. second, shot in palm tree and when x-rayed we saw the bullet in his head. also has a bullet hole in his membrane (wing) near the joint so he was hanging when they shot him.

Bullet can't be removed without damaging either eye or bone, so we decided to leave it in, he is an old boy and will very likely stay in care.

Parks and wildlife are investigating. ranger went from door to door in the area where the girl was shot and we had an article in the paper but nothing so far. so I guess we can only hope the person will stop because of all attention."
