Researchers at the University of Adelaide are investigating bats in the north-eastern parklands as part of a new project being run in collaboration with the CSIRO.
The grey-headed flying fox colony in Botanic Park is being studied in order to establish the kinds of viruses they may be carrying.
The researchers are also hoping to learn more about the colony’s movement’s at night, as well as their foraging behaviour.
Louise Pascal chatted to head researcher Dr Wayne Boardman.
