if this issue is the involvement of going out and catching microbats and then selling them... i think it is worth signing.
i am sure the batty ppl on BatsRule can get the 1,024 signatures needed.
Bats deserve protection. They play a critical role in many different habitats around the world. They should not be killed so they can be displayed in someone's collection or hang on a wall as art. Unfortunately, Amazon disagrees. Even though bats face such threats as habitat loss and disease, Amazon is still selling taxidermied bat specimens on its website. My name is Bonnie, and I served with the National Park Service for over 30 years. It was a great way to share my love of nature with others. One of my favorite roles was working on a bat program at Carlsbad Caverns. I watched these animals and learned about their vital role in pollination, seed disbursement, and keeping pest populations under control. It was heartbreaking when I discovered that Amazon was selling at least 6 bat species on its website. I know how far a little education can go. Once people know that our bats are in trouble, I hope they will push for protections. Let’s start with companies like Amazon. Amazon is the biggest virtual store in the world. It is time they shut down the bat trade on their site.
