COUNCILLOR Greg Olm has officially announced his intention to once again stand for council in the upcoming Local Government elections.
After working as a councillor for over a decade, both with Western Downs Regional Council (WDRC) and the Chinchilla Shire prior to amalgamation, Cr Olm said he wanted to continue representing the people of the Western Downs.
"After seeing the way the Jandowae residents came together, all fighting for a common cause to rid the town of bats, (I realised) I would like to continue supporting residents of the WDRC," he said.
"This is not the first time that I have been involved in such an exercise, having helped to successfully move a colony three times from the town of Chinchilla.
"There are many more challenges ahead that I look forward to being involved in, given the opportunity to represent the people of the (Western Downs)."
Cr Olm, a farmer and grazier by trade, has been responsible for the environmental health portfolio during his time with WDRC, a role he said he found rewarding.
