Bega MP Andrew Constance, Eurobodalla Shire Council and the Office of Environment and Heritage signed off on a vegetation removal strategy for flying foxes on Friday.
“There will no be no delay in this process,” Mr Constance said.
“We haven’t mucked about with this and hopefully now we can bring a reprieve to residents that are suffering.
“Work will commence to remove the vegetation and this will be the first step before dispersal.
“There is a long way to go and there are challenges to meet.”
Mr Constance said he wanted to acknowledge the Eurobodalla Shire Council staff and OEH for working with the State Government on the issue.
He also said NSW premier Mike Baird would be in Batemans Bay on Monday afternoon.
