Nestled in the foothills of the Gold Coast hinterland, on Ancient lands lay the Beechmont slip and gateway to the Greater Numinbah Valley.
Our family home and also the home of Australian Wildlife Volunteers. Located the middle of three National Parks.

We are situated backing into an eastern facing valley on 15.5 Hectares. The property boundary encompasses a majority of the valley with a Northern and south facing escapements.

OUR Paramount priority as a haven and Protected wildlife Sanctuary.We have had our rainforest section of the property declared as heritage listed land so it can never be touched or built upon from its native state.

DHALANBAH, As its known ancestral name & meaning (“Meeting place under the Rainbow”) In native tongue from the Eugannbe people. Pronounced (Dal-an-bah) as three symbols the same length, Local elders have mentioned its age at around 19 million years old.

OUR MISSION


Rescue, rehabilitation for a release of all species of fauna & flora in captive care scenarios.

We endeavour to educate, Mentor and facilitate people for Best Practice medical treatment to all native species, Compromised, Vulnerable, Sick, Injured or orphaned wildlife in our sanctuary grounds & Treatment clinic.100% of funds raised through Australian Wildlife Volunteers goes directly into the management and upkeep of the estate and wildlife charity.


Our Vision & Goals
To facilitate, Educate and mentor University students, Travellers, Backpackers, wildlife enthusiasts, New & existing carers in the study of eco wildlife, Veterinary and all biodiversity that requires hands-on experience with wildlife in a paid volunteer situation. Community focus on expansion projects on site in Aquaponics, Permaculture and Organic, sustainable practices to offset the costs to run the charity.

STAY & PLAY


15.5 Hectare rainforest estate.wet & dry Sclerophyll forest, low lying woodlands grasslands and mountains. 2 dams and a running creek on each side of the property 75% of the year though always holding water holes, smaller waterfalls and more massive cascades can be seen in wet monsoon season.

Total of 8 buildings including, veterinary treatment clinic and education centre.

Bunkhouse, two bedrooms sleeping 8 in total open sliding doors onto big balcony overlooking the valley, separate toilet and bathroom, huge shower.

Separate, laundry room with hot/cold washing machine. Fully self-contained spacious kitchen dining room, Lounge room with fireplace and Ac.

Main house and treatment clinic is over 800m2 and home to Trish & Terry.

The education centre can seat 40-50 for workshops and training purposes.
